PART 3

GETTIN' STICKY

X-90’s don’t have an awfully huge surface area. So when Ashley from Ash Stripes came over to measure Oscar up for signage, he was stopped in his tracks. He jumped out of his van with a big tape measure, took one look and then went back to get a smaller one!

Now, Ash Stripes do all the signage on those awesome big trucks you see getting around with the Mannell Motors logo on them, so it was a case of trying to cram everything into half the space. No problem!

Tape measure and samples in hand, Ashley got to work. The secret to good signage is to make sure that it not only gets the message across, but actually suits the vehicle it is going on. So he and Nick did a bit of walking around, some measuring... a bit more walking around... a bit more measuring... and then a little deep discussion... some more measuring... decided on blue... and then all measurements were drastically reduced as it turned out that an X-90 has about a quarter of the panel space of a GQ.

Ashley laid out some test strips for colour matching and as far as I know (the boys were mumbling something about silver edging)... we were going with blue and silver, or blue and white. I guess I will just have to wait and see, eh? So with measurements done and colours selected, he will be back later with the finished decals ready to go on.

Hang on... FedEx just pulled up... what’s that big box?

WOO HOO! The Calmini gear just landed... stay tuned!
