Stingybark creek
We have just returned home from a camping trip at stingybark creek. Near Mansfield. This is the site that Ned Kelly shot 3 policemen. The camp ground is well spread out with pit toilets and fire pits with swing away hotplats. We set up our gic offroad camper and used this for our base. We spent some of our time exploring near by tracks and historic sites. There is a information board at the camp grounds with all these near by sites listed. We travel up to powers look out, about a half our drive, for a look. This site was the hide out for another bush ranger, and colleague of Ned Kellys, Harry Powers. We also enjoyed a day trip up to Mt. Sterling to have a look at Craigs Hut. We enjoyed great weather, with the exception of one day that gave us drizzle showers all day. How ever this give us the chance to head into Mansfield and top up with water and supplies, and enjoy a counter meal and beer from one of the pubs in town. Like all good holidays it was over way to quickly, and now i have to get use to the idea of going back to work. This was a great spot to go and chill out and enjoy some off the high country!
