Double Island Pt
SO my first trip to double ISland pt with Jacob, Courtney and Ingrid, Great trip, Have to recommend it. We started off along the inland track on the way to teewah beach, we stopped off at freshwater lake, absolutely pituresque and worth the walk there is further lake up further to my understanding but we felt like we'd done enough walking. So back in the car and we're off it's single lane twoway track, so remember to take ya time, as get idiots in the 4wds flying round corners, that said there are plenty of bays to pull into. as we came out off forests we were met with RBT unit, they really cracking are down drinkdriving now days and being my on G P's it's not worth the risk. So we pulled out on to teewah and headed north to leisha track, by time we got to teewah the tide was comeing quick, so we stuck one very track (I have to say those Navara D22, have got guts, not as much the landcruiser, of cause). Any way after spending, the day double Island Pt, we reluctantly packed and headed up the beach to tackle the rocks, where we came into just litte bit of bother, the second last corner to rainbow and we pop the tyre rim on a rock, Well, thats when really began, as pulled up into a little section of rock, we jumped out to the assess the damage. Getting the tyre out from under the vehicle, we ended up snapping one of the two prongs, on the jack handle, so abit of tough love and we got off, then it came to jacking up the vehicle, another tedious, yet timely situation with tide on its way in. So we finally got the tyre off and new one on and got ourselves around the next bend and on the blacktop.
Certainly well worth the trip but i think i might chuck some bead locks on the old HJ75, next time.
