Beach to Bush day trip 2 Jan 2012

This is a day trip our family did with the family next door, who also have a 100 series.

Headed from Brisbane up the Bruce HWY to Noosa & the ferry, then on to Teewah Beach. With the girls driving (and having a blast) we headed North to Double Island Point. This is a great beach drive!

Once there we set up the awning, and enjoyed swimming, fishing, snacking and some kite flying.

Headed in to Rainbow Beach for fish & chips lunch and ice-cream, and for the girls to check out the shops while the kids played on the playground. Win-win for everyone!

Well fed & rested, we joined a track a few km's out of Rainbow that led us to Harry's Hut. This track saw us come across water, mud and corrugations - a great drive. In a few spots we took the easier options, but could easily have opted for the more challenging sections if time and recovery gear had allowed.

Arriving at Harry's Hut, we discovered my right rear BFG T/A was going down fast! After changing the tyre and dealing with one of the kids toilet emergencies, we could relax a bit! Had a swim, a fish, and some late afternoon tea, before packing up and heading home down the highway... chatting on the way home my wife decided our flat was the perfect opportunity to ditch our current, almost worn tyres for a full set of newbies - no argument from me!!!

All up a great day out with the family and our neighbours.
