This week's Talkin Dirty comes courtesy of a West Australian lad who drives a very different Mitsubishi Challenger. He's got a buildup thread on the tough mid-size wagon in the Buildups section of the forum, and it's got almost 3500 views, proving that he's certainly generating some interest. Read on for….
TALKIN' DIRTY WITH… MRBISHI
Name: Jon
Location (town and state): Perth, Western Australia
What do you do for a crust? I'm a technical support manager for an IT company.
When did you join the A4WDM forums and why?
I joined in June 2006 after seeing it in the magazine. Fairly new to the 4WD scene, I thought it'd be a great place to learn some tips and tricks from the other members, plus see all their kick-arse rigs and get some ideas for my own.
What do you drive and how long have you owned it:
I drive a Mitsubishi Challenger - 99 model, 3lt Auto. I've had it about 2 years now and haven't had one single problem with it.
What modifications have you done to it in that time:
- 2.5" suspension lift
- 2" body lift
- trimmed bumpstops
- 22 degree neg offset 15" black steel rims
- 33"x12.5 Goodyear MTRs
- engine mount bluetongue compressor
- custom made rear storage unit
- custom pressurised 50lt water system
- roof rack, sandflag, cage and awning
- Lightforce 240 spotties
- Nudgebar
- interior mounted fire extinguisher, recovery gear, front and back recov points etc.
- GME TX4200 and 4.5db gain antenna
- Alpine MP3 head unit with ipod integration
- Garmin Legend CX GPS
Stay tuned, there is a lot more coming soon!

Where do you like going bush:
When it's summer over here. I like heading out toward the beach. Recently it's included the coast down south through the D'Entrecasteaux National park and up north to Wedge Island. Nothing better than kicking back at the end of the day with a coldie on the beach.
Any members off this forum you usually go wheeling with?
Trity. I haven't met up with many members on the forum but I'm sure most of the WA ones are on Perth4x4.net which has a lot of guys I wheel with in it.
Who is your dream navvy and why?
Roothy - cos hes a funny bastard! You'd never get bored on a long drive with the stories he could tell ya! Plus he's handy with the spanner if things do go wrong.
Beer, bourbon, wine, whisky or soft-drink, what's your poison (type and brand)?
Bundaberg Rum - Dark and Stormies... also have a tradition of polishing off $8 bottles of port on camping trips!
Who'd win in a boxing match between Harold from Neighbours and Alf from Home and Away, and why:
Alf for sure! Harold needs to toughen the hell up!
If your 4WD had a personality, what would it be?
A freak - I always catch people having a gander trying to work out what it is (it doesn't have any badges on it except a small one hidden at the front).
If you could say one thing to our nation's politicians, what would it be?
Give the 4WD community a fair go!
What's your most memorable moment you've spent with your 4WD?
That time I almost rolled it was the scariest moment, and probably the last trip I did down to the D'entracasteaux national park - just being on such a rugged stretch of coast with only you, your 4WD and a few mates.
Who would you like to see join the forums and become a regular poster?
Not really sure - hearing from Roothy a bit more would be tops
Finally, who do you want interviewed next week:
Madpaj - I envy this bloke with his dedication to building up and maintaining his Paj. He isn't afraid to get it dirty either!
There you have it, this week's Talkin' Dirty. We're keeping a close eye on Jon's crazy Challenger, and as soon as it's finished we'll be featuring it in the magazine. Join us again this time next week for a chat with Madpaj, a young bloke with an great budget buildup on a Pajero, proving you don't have to spend big to have big fun.
