ROOTHY'S PLAN TO SAVE THE BUSH
Right now, with the extreme greens and minority groups holding the balance of power, us ordinary Australians who are too busy paying taxes and bringing up kids to chain ourselves to trees are being fenced out of our own country. Access to great big bits of the bush, our Aussie heritage, is under threat everywhere you look. National Parks are using our money to gate us out. All we want is our Aussie birthright, access to the bush. But if we don't do something about it, we'll loose the best lifestyle on earth.
I love the bush, and I know you do too. That’s why I’ve launched the Don’t Lockup Australia campaign. I’m going to fight to preserve access to the bush around the country, whether it’s tracks in Tassie, stock routes through the Simmo or your local national park. I’m going to be lobbying on behalf of all us Aussies who know the bush is big enough for all of us. I'll be meeting with pollies and parks rangers alike to argue our side of the story –that those of us who truly love the bush love to experience it first hand too. The freedom of the bush is the Australian way, gating it up to satisfy a minority just doesn't make any sense at all. We’ve got lawyers on board – passionate, die-hard 4WDers like you and me – so that if we have to take this to the courts, we can.
But we can’t do it alone. We need your help.
We can only fight track closures when we know about them – so we need you to tell us when you hear about proposed closures. You’ve got your ear to the ground when it comes to your local tracks but it's numbers that'll win this fight. You have to let us all know too!
It’s time to tell the decision makers to get stuffed – that we aren’t going to cop this anymore. It’s time to act.
Australia is a huge country, more than big enough for all of us. Most of these city based minority groups have no idea of the strength of Mother Nature or how much us ordinary Aussies love being part of the great outdoors. To win this fight we have to stand up and be counted. Together we can keep the bush open for us and for our kids!
