Re: Big River

Depends where your talking about in Big River, I know Donalds Trackw hich takes you up to Mt Terrible off Big River Road is seasonally closed and gated, but i think the gate has been ripped out or busted....

Not sure about other tracks, alhtough i am sure that cant be the only one....

Re: Big River

Theres a ton of trails up there that never get closed....anywhere along Frenchmans spur tk for a starters, or Boundry tk or Corn hill tk or Monument creek tk.................If you want a real challenge head for a place called Venells campground, cross the bridge & turn left up Reefton logging tk & left at Gum top, but good luck up there
Maybe, just once, someone will call me 'Sir' without adding, 'You're making a scene.'

Thanks Tomac. Are you saying that the Reefton logging Tk and Gum top are full on or are all the ones you've mentioned?

Reefton & some of gum top are crazy. I found this on you tube, its Short cut 2 tk witch runs up from Frenchmans creek tk or down from Frenchmans spur tk.

There is easier stuff & harder too( like short cut 1 tk)

Re: Big River

Had a great time up there this weekend just gone. We entered from the Marysville side of Big River and camped at Vennells on Saturday night. Went up to Mt Terrible via Mt Terrible Track on Sunday (no snow) and came out near Jameison. Did not see one locked gate all weekend.
Big thank you to JoeT from the forum who came along with his partner Carolyn and young bloke Josh. It was great to have someone there with his knowledge and experience for us who are still a little bit wet behind the ears when it comes to 4wding, thanks again mate!! P.S your truck is awesome!!
Look forward to meeting more blokes through the forum the same way.
Cheers
