Show us your Challenger

Unread post by vxtreem » November 18th, 2010, 9:56 pm

Lets get a thread going of your Challengers rather individually starting threads. There are other 'model specific' pic threads and I'm always interested in how other Challengers owners are making the underrated, capable 4x4's even better. PA's and PB's.

Get a copy of the following to keep the thread easily read.

WHEELS/TYRES

Hey Ron04......So you've got an Air Flow snorkel, any good? Did you do the install yourself and were the supplied instructions and template easy to follow and understand?

The reason being I'm seriously considering buying one in the next week and installing it over my xmas break, for $395+ shipping it's pretty good value.

Cheers Curt

I've just been looking into that myself, though I'm looking at a towbar/carrier combo. Kaymar do this for $1970 that's from OL Springwood QLD, I don't know where you are in Oz but if near Lilydale VIC then Kaymar have them for $1920+ $295 fitting.

Also 4wd world online have one for $1795 ex Sydney with a Hayman Reece tow hitch, so I guess that means you need a tow bar.

Guys

Kaymar Rear wheel carrier does include fully rated towbar and was 1900 odd from TJM plus work light which wasn't that much, as mentioned i also added a hi lift jack mount which meant moving the work light to the opposite side of the wheel. Be warned if you have larger than standard wheels or tyres (who doesn't) then the wheel will foul the arm where it latches, no big deal you just need to cut a bit off and refit the plastic plug.

RE the airflow snorkel, Read Pickel's post it is very informative

Fis9076

Got the tank from 4wdsystems in SA. When i was looking i found 2, one from them and 1 from VIC, i chose this one as it had the largest capacity 125L, from memory i think the other was only 118. Delivery was 6 weeks and it fitted in without any problems.

Thanks for the comments on the toy, i think i've pretty much gone as far as i want to now, beside which the minster for finance has said no more, mind you i've found it easier to ask for forgiveness than permission ;)
