Hi guys,
Just starting to get stuck into getting my "new" NL 2.8 td to get it to a versatile touring level. Last NL 3.5 exceed was stolen Australia day. Have had front Lokka fitted. Rear 40mm hd King springs, wound up torsion bars and trimmed stops. Cut down and strapped in the back a desk to accept 2 meat tubs with lids. One tub holds recovery gear the other is for kitchen gear and it works a treat. I put 4 eye bolts in the top and strap down both my engels, 1 40ltr and 1 38ltr eclipse. I use one for food and one for drink. On the to do list is a fridge slide which I'll make, fit the dual battery & controller, fit side awning, fit flairs and make bracket and fit rear work lights. Got all the gear just got to make time.

Picked up a 93 NH Pajero last week, a 2.5 Turbo Diesel and seems to be pretty damn good! Needs some work done to it, I've just started out by doing an oil and battery service (both were much needed!) and about 3 days after changing the oil, the oil pressure sensor has stopped giving me a reading, just sitting on zero. I'm thinking I probably just knocked the pressure switch when changing the filter, but that's just a thought at the moment, haven't looked right into it. I don't really know this thing very well yet, so just wondered if anyone has done the same thing or if there is an easy way to check if there is a problem with the oil pump etc.

As well as that, I am looking to get a roof tent and rack for it. If anyone is selling either.....

Cheers!

Hey guys,
This is my first road car. Its a 11/1997 model GLS Pajero manual. At the moment it has just over 260,000km on it and still runs like a trooper. The car was purchased brand new off my parents in 1998 and has since then been the family run about and true soccer mum car. However when i got my red P's the car then belonged to me (as mum got a new Mazda and the poor old Pajero sat behind the shed for 5 years) The car inside is mint! but the outside is a different story. as you would expect for a car that is 16 years old, there is scratches and small dints in the paint, as well as the 5 years sitting in the sun which caused the paint to fade and peel on the roof. No matter what its faults and flaws are, she is still a Pajero, and nothing can beat that for a nice old road rig.

The current plan is to get some new tread. which i am looking at 265/70/16 Hankook MTs which i think will go alright. well lots better then the Coopers ATs with barely road legal tread that the car is currently wearing. after new tyres i will look at putting new shocks all round as they are a bit worn out, as well as some lifted coils in the rear. With the lift, i am going to remove the side steps, and front mud guards to give it a bit more ground clearance and to make room for sliders. I also plan to get a 4in stainless snorkel from ExtremeZilla Off Road. They look tough as nails and i have only ever seen one other Pajero that has one (which was from 4 hours south of me) so its just something a bit different.
As for what will come after the snorkel, im not to sure of yet. i could go LED lights bars, but i have only been 4WDing once at night and didnt really need them, or i could spend some more and get a Bullbar for front end protection
anyway i hope you guys enjoy my currently dead stock Pajero

have found oil in the intercooler. just wondering what could cause this
things I found
1. oil over the cool side of the motor under the intercooler.
2. oil in the top hose to the intercooler next to the fire wall has oil in it.

FRONT AXLE TUBE CARRIER BEARING!
What a job this was!
Just blew without warning a mile from Gatwick Airport,UK. My boys thought they were
going to miss there flight to a week in Greece, but she got them to the airport and me the 80 miles home again.

Bearing completely mullered!
Pulling the driveshaft out was easy as the bearing had all but dissapeared leaving the shell in the end of the tube to the diff.
Two nights of heating and hammering got the old shell out. Next was to tidy the housing to take the new bearing, as i had butchered it during the bashing process.
Cleaned off all the burrs for a perfect fit of the new one and on with the re-assembly of steering knuckle, hub etc.
It must of been on its last legs for a while because the drive feels sweeet now. :)
