ABS/ Traction control lights on dash

Unread post by brettavey » August 17th, 2015, 4:44 pm

Hello, I was concerned my ABS wasn't working so today I braked heavily and I was right, the wheels just locked up. Shortly after this the traction control lights came on dash ( their are two). I did a little research and it says I have to take car in to a specialist to be diagnosed. My NP is a 2006 has inbuilt booster so different to earlier models. What can I do?

If the wheels lock then the ABS motor is running and working, however, it seems the antilock feature is not sensing and preventing lockup.
Was that test on concrete or a loose surface?
At what speed did they lock?

A scan gauge or similar may read and display what the fault code is. It could be a simple fix.

Thank you, took sensors off today they were all covered in dried mud, cleaned them up good as new again. If you go off road a bit my suggestion is to clean these as part of the car cleaning process
