After pre-purchase Pajero advice 98-02?

Unread post by SimilarCookie » January 16th, 2015, 8:56 pm

Hey im looking at buying a pajero arround the 1998 to 2002 models
Does anyone have advice on the 3.2l td 02 models or the earlyer 2.8 td models vs the 3.5l v6?
Preffering auto so the wife can drive.... well if im not there anyway. And any advice on rear draws that can fold dead flat (for when not camping or touring)
So far only thought to put runners in so it can slide in and out..
Any help or tips appriciated - cheers

G'day mate. I hope i'm not too late with my comment.

I would go for the 2.8 model myself. Simple, and reliable.

I don't like petrol 4wds as they are too thirsty, and have a tendency to die if water splashes on them. Loads of power though!

As for the 3.2, well, at this very moment my brother is debating whether or not he wants to spend the $4,700+ on a new injector pump for his. So that answers that question.

I like my 4bys simple, as if something breaks, you can generally still get home. If my brothers 3.2 paj conked out on the track instead of 100m from his house, it would have been a very expensive tow job.

Hope this has been helpful. Happy 4wdriving!!
I'd rather have it and not need it, than need it and not have it...
