This was my 1st 4B, I have to thank it for slowing me down so I could appreciate my suroundings, we had some really good times and it was my daily driver for 4 years and I then sold it off to my cousin on a sheep farm (DEEPWATER NSW) and it went into hard labour towing a horse float as well as the harrows around the paddock. Not sure whether its still alive.(that was 1993)

The number plate was a fluke and i did have a photo somewhere that had it parked next to ENGLISH RD but i can't find it.

Did i happen to tell you that i think i found the highest population of old landrovers per square meter.
Its a little sea side town called SOUTH END on CURTIS ISLAND QLD (Off Gladstone) have a look on Google Earth( you can't see the Landy's)
Every yard had 1 some had 2 and others had 4

Yep love the series 3. Ex army series 3 was my first 4b. It was a radio truck apparntly. i put a hard top on it and rewired it and had a 202 put in with larger ratio gears in the gearbox to make highway driving easier and economical. Sadley i traded it on a range rover. I love the green ute, would love one just like that as a to and from work rig.....

nice photos.

Mine's auctally a Series IIA, you can tell by the lights being on the radiator panel and not in the wings

late 2a's had lights in the wings
the easyest way is the grill as the 3 has a plastic on where the 2 has wire mesh and the dash has a plastic crash pad in the 3 the 2 has a real dash made of steel

im going to look at a 2 with a v8 conversion sunday wish me luck

How did it go mate? spose we will hear about it on aulro soon enough ;)

Btw you are right in that mine is a late IIA and should have lights in the wings except i think that it was part of a special order to go over to SVN and it had to match the trucks that were already over there for parts, etc.
