HAve you bought a used TD5 Defender?

Unread post by Travis Annabel » August 5th, 2013, 8:43 am

Gday everyone,

I'd like to hear from anyone who's purchased a used Defender with the TD5 engine.

What are your thoughts on it as a 4WD?

What were you careful to look at when you were inspecting them?

Have you had any dramas with it since you've had the keys?

Would you recommend them to your mates?

Why did you chose a Defender?

Why did you chose the TD5 Engine?

Cheers! :thumb:

In answer to your questions, starting from the top

1 Absolutely Terrible, and the less people that buy them will mean that there are more of them that I will have to take off peoples hands :D

2 Oil in the loom, coolant, oil condition, not overheating.Post 2002 have steel dowels in the head, prior to this they have plastic dowels, not a killer though

3 Runs like a Swiss watch, but I knew what I was looking at.......Ohhh I mean it never runs right ;)

4 Never recommend them to anyone....all the more for me

5 I have more than one,and they aren't Japanese and NOT a Jeep, and at least I know it will get me there and home again :purplex:

6I had more power than my 200Tdi
Land Rover......what the Japanese aspire to be !!
