Find your self a copy of 4WD Action, Pure Custom 4WD, Gold Lable Edition Vol.4 No5. This has 2 custom Disco's running 3" lift, plus 2" body lift, plus one is running 37" tyres. Good luck. Discodog.

I'm running 245/75/16 BFG M/T with no problems only 2" spring lift. I would like to go to 265/75/16 next but am not sure about clearance.

I know someone who has 4 factory steel rims for a D2 how may be interested in selling them. They are in Rockhampton, but can get them to Brissy with a bit of time. Call me on 0419 647 186 if interested.

Try this link from Les Richmond automotive.

It will tell you what you require for different size tyres.

Verdict

Unread post by meanfalcon » March 4th, 2010, 6:36 am

I have just done a 2500km trip on my new BFG A/Ts 265/75/16. These are 95mm longer round the circumfrence Than my 245/75/16 muddies and have sucked the V8 dry while towing the little caravan. The van is only 1500kg loaded, while the disco is 2600kg with camping gear. Fuel economy (not) is out to 25l per 100 the torque converter only locks in top gear with a tail wind. With the 50mm lift there is no clearance problems though I have fitted an ARB winch bar and a custom rear bar with the quarters chopped. Now looking for ideas on lifting power output to help out. Any ideas welcome.

G'day so does that mean you have 50mm lifted springs with 30mm spacers on top, if so how does this combo go i was looking at the same route to get that bit more clearance have you got 3 inch raised shocks or will 2 inch lifted shocks do the job? Thanks
