what is the 4wd shift pattern 1996 disco?

My brother inlaw has a 1996 disco Manual. his 4wd gear shift knob is worn real bad and we dont know what the high low pattern as it seem to have 2 low's ??

anyone help, Its not the hardest question asked here! :lol:

from memory you have forward is high range back is low range, but then push the lever to the passenger side and it locks the centre diff and has same forward and back for high and low. Its been while now so i may be wrong
my lux is only good for driving through puddles and i dont know anything.........

so ... for black top it's Drivers side which is NO diff lock? and forward for high range ?

youll soon know if it high or low range. When the centre diff is locked it should have a light come on on the dash.

its the othe way around, high in back and low is forward..

I dont have the techo setup like this, and being wornout, we were guessing, mines an old landcruiser.
