Coil Sprung Sierra Lift

Unread post by oldmacdonald » March 27th, 2009, 9:21 am

A mate has just got one and is looking to get it a bit further off the ground. No mega lift required, just some more height with the objective of fitting 31's in the wheel arches. A body lift is also on the list of options for clearing the 31's. The Sierra has tidy factory flares so we don't want to cut the guards to get the tyres to fit.

Anyone know of springs/shocks/kits available for lifting coilly sierras?

G'day OldMc,
I know on the coily's to get a suspension 'kit' is a bit harder as not many people do a shock to suit them as there is very little call for them.
I know Dobinsons in Sydney do springs for them but dont do shockers ( Dobinson's brand one's) Call the phone number is in my sig line ask for Marty and tell him Steve (et4wd) from Sth Oz sent ya and to look after you. He may be able to source some other brand shocks for ya to suit the coils;)

Steve.
forget the racin and stick to the social, to many people with there hand out!!!!!

iv put the 40mm lift in mine with the king springs and ultima shocks, like the ones that are on ebay all the time 40mm Suspension Lift Kit Suzuki Sierra SJ80 Coily 96-98 - eBay Coil Springs, Suspension, Steering, Car Parts, Accessories, Cars, Bikes, Boats. (end time 22-Apr-09 09:01:52 AEST)

iv also fitted a 2 inch body lift which if you want to fit 31's that you will have to fit both atlest or thay would scrub id say.

im pritty happy with that kit, it has a good ride and flexs alright to.

Thinking of getting the king spring 40mm lift off ebay, I've heard that they're a harsh ride, is it harder on your body than the stock setup? . And with the 40mm do you need to extend the brake lines or do any other mods when fitting it.

Scottysj80, What kind of suspension do you have? Cause it's look like your tires move side by side...

Hey fella's, (matman & sgalliani) Just take note that the last post from scottysj80 was made in mid April 2009.... there's a good chance that the vehicle is now somewhat different &/or that he's moved on too! ;)

if you are still wonering, the 40mm kit of ebay is really good! it made the ride 200% smoother and flexed a fair bit more too!
