So I believe Harb has made it back to civilisation. He mentioned the Jeep but not whether it made it back or not

Hopefully once he has done his trip report he can throw up a few pictures and fill us in on how the soft roader did :D

Now from some insight from someone who actually owns a new(ish) MY13 3.0CRD Grand Cherokee and takes it off road.

Mate, i have done a ***** load of off road with this car and beside having to take the 7 clips out of the front bumper to remove the air dam, the car has done everything i have asked of it with ease and (besides some extra power) it is totally stock... even stock tyres.

I have done the following (in reverse order):

Big Desert national park
Border Track (top to bottom)
Wyperfield national park
Dargo (and surrounding area)
Blue Rag (top to bottom)
Yarra Ranges national park (and surrounding areas)
Macedeon Ranges (and surrounding areas)
Pyrite State Forest
Toolangi (and surrounding areas)
Yakandanda (and surrounding areas)
Mount buller national park (and surrounding areas)
Yark (toyota landcruiser club park)

Without issue, sure ive been bogged a few times but no more than anyone else in their toyota's or nissan's.

Next is Mecca, the sand island of dreams.

Why people answer but really dont have any idea makes me love forums...

Hi Harb

Would probably be better off checking on some Jeep forums. I know Drive took one of these across the simmo and up big red but then how hard they really pushed it is unknown as like most of those publications it was probably a sponsored ad.

My mate took his Jeep Laredo 2013 and I took my Colorado 7 across the Simpson last week (beginning of August). We went via Rig, WAA, French and QAA. He got stuck a few times, damaged his black lower plastic on the front b/bar, and lost his hooks at the front (apparently yellow ). Once he 'learnt' how to drive it across the desert (all vehicles are different) then he didn't have too many problems. Would he drive it again across the Simpson, prob not.
