91 Terrano what's this pipe for??

Unread post by koolbananass » January 5th, 2014, 1:16 pm

hi

i have just got a Terrano a few days ago and while inspecting the engine bay My mate noticed a hanging metal pipe with nothing connected to it from from its size I'm guessing it could belong to a vacuum system,

the metal pipe comes up the drivers side wheel well (inside the engine bay) to the top and then on to the fire wall across to passenger side about half way and then goes down a few centimetres and stops (pipe marked in yellow) my guess would be someone tried blocking off the EGR system (if it has one)

I haven't noticed any abnormal running issues.

would someone have a photo of there engine bay for me to come par it to

91 Nissan Terrano 2.7l TD automatic

thanks
Michael

Hi
That pipe is a breather. If you trace it is connected to both diffs, gearbox and transfer case.
