Unread post by Rosscoe59 » October 20th, 2017, 5:21 pm

Hi, I will be going to have a look at a 09 Petrol D40 Navara soon and was wondering if there is anything that I should be aware of whilst checking it out, I know it is not as economical as the diesel, I dont want a diesel. Thanks for reading

Didn't know they made 4 litre petrol Navaras. What engine is it?

Make sure it doesn't have a bent chassis, many D40 Navaras were sold by Nissan into Australia and they had a malformed chassis courtesy of the factory production. Rear RHS corner of tub sits low. RHS wheel arch clearance is less than the LHS.

Australia is the dumping ground for Nissan problems and they salted them throughout OZ. I have pictures of some later ones and vin and chassis numbers of two new ones, side by side at a dealers. 25mm difference in wheel arch above tyre.
Some manual boxes had faulty hardening in the gearbox shafts, requiring replacement.
