D40 Cruise control won't set - any ideas? A/C fan issues too

Unread post by Cobz » March 11th, 2016, 8:00 pm

Hey guys
I just purchased a 2010 Navara D40 diesel ute, its done a few k's hence why i got it cheap, i have noticed the cruise control doesnt set, the cruise light comes on in the dash but she doesnt set the speed, just wondering if theres a way i can suss this out b4 i take it to a mechanic?

Aircon fan... another little issue is the aircon fan, when you change fan speeds you hear it change but the output from the vents stays the same.... not ideal on hot days :(

any ideas are appreciated, thanks in advance.

Hi Cobz, just to be sure are you turning on cruise control and then when desired speed is reached pressing the set button?

check your brake lights, usually the cruise uses the brake light cct as its power or signal power, if that fuse has blown it wont work, well doesnt on my aftermarket cruise anyway.

Ok so after further investigation and help with google the aircon blower problem is solved, turns out the filters behind the glovebox where clogged badly.... all good after a clean.
The cruise problem seems to be a dodgey neutral switch or sensor, if u hold the gearstick to one side it sets, i will now investigate getting one and where it goes, thanks for the thoughts.
