G Day,

I read this from start to finish and it seams everyone with 33s on a D22 has done, 2inch lift (or 3inch), 2inch body and gaurd trimming. I understand the flex through its rage doesnt change with any lift so only a body lift gives body clearance or triming. I dont want to do a body lift but I am happy to get the 4inch out and do some triming.

Can you get 33s (285/75 R16) on with a 3inch lift and gaurd triming only, with minimal to no scrubbing off road?

Gday Daz, know your post was a while ago but can I ask what lift you are running im about to put on a 2inch suspension lift and was hopping that would be enough for 33's ?

Cheers

hey mate, im running a 2inch ultimate suspension lift kit and a 2inch body lift. I don't think you'll fit them under with only a 2inch s/lift.
Cheers Darren

Sargent80, Have you been up in the bush to test it out yet? Ive been hoping to do the same, just with a 2" body lift. Cant afford to get the suspension lift till after tax time, and need new rubber now. It would be nice to keep the stock bar too ( i dont mind cutting it a bit if i need too...)

Hey Sargent 80,
Nice truck, great to see you can get those tyres on without a body lift as I've just worked out their illegal in NSW, so suspension is only option and I really don't want to push that more than 2inches.
Would be keen to know what the rubbing is on, and do you think some minor panel work fix it.

Cheers

hey Todd they rub on the inside of the flares at full lock abit of chopping to the inside of the guard it at the bottom
im sure abit of cutting to the bottom lip will stop the rubbing but it hasnt worried me as it isnt that bad

Love the two D40's here Nutt and Sargant80! I have one myself and was thinking in the future to go bigger tyres like this, since i'm running 265/75/16 as it is on a 2" susp lift. Good too see some out there!!

I have fitted 33inch (285 75 R16) tyres to my 2009 D22, 3 inch lift, -20mm offset 16x8 rims, trimmed front and rear guards however both mud flaps can stay on. I have given it a few runs off road and have next to no rubbing. It will only rub with speed on full lock at 20psi or less. No body lift required. The spare also fits with a small bracket made to keep it away from the exhaust.

Jackel, I know its an old post but I was wondering if you could post up some pics of your trimming and where you did it. I'm not reall flash with the car maintence business and I can't figure out where the pervious photos of the trimming/bashing are taken. Any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers, Cookey
