Do you have to go wider when you go bigger? I'd like more clearance , but Im happy with the width

do people generally go wider as well?
My issue with wider is the power it robs. Aspecially with a 2.5 lt d22

Yes mate I did fit the spare in there, it's like it was made for it! Fits in snugly between above the diff cover and my towbar, could not fit a bigger tyre in that space.

How'd you go?

Pretty high, you must be carrying some weight.

search the "4 psi rule"

Run my muds round 35psi on road, 25-8 off.

Has anyone ran 35's but 11.5 wide? would they suck the power out of it just as much?

Hi, I have a D40 with 5-6inch Calmini lift- OME shocks on front and Bilsteins on the back. Fitted by Macquirie 4WD.. Added 33inch Mickey Thompsons MTZ and all i had to do is cut the inside half of the front mudflaps off. All good now. They look good and are great in the muddy wetstuff although I do have to play the radio up a bit to hide the extra noise from the tyres.

g'day all i'm running a set of 235/85/16's on a set of 6" sunraysia rims that don't scrub at all on or off road.
only mod needed was to remove the front mud flaps, probably could've just trimmed them
but they where a bit knackered anyway..
They're on a 95 d21 with a 2" lift but wheels where on before the lift.
Noticed a bit of a difference in take off performance but it's tolerable.
