Mine isn't an LS (Chev) engine but a Holden 350 (last of the real Holden engines with the Harrop crank) and I still have good power and decent economy.

im new to this type of ute, I need a new set of tyres and rims as I have split rims and stock tyres (yuck) I want to get some mickey Thomson classic 3's with Baja mtz's (33')
I'm curious on what offset can I go for real deep rims? I heard everyone goes 0 offset but I'm curious and no I'm not putting spacers on. Thanks

On my 79 dual cab I am running 315/17/16's, 0 offset on the front and -55 on rear (king steel wheels). Turned out a treat and addresses the wheel track issue. Doing the certification tests in a few weeks.

76 wheel options?

Unread post by jamesw » February 11th, 2015, 4:11 pm

Hi all. I'm new to this game but just acquired myself a 76 series workmate. I am looking to swap out the wheels and have found some 16x8 +3 offset sunnies going cheap. Will these fit my bus or should I be looking for something else?

I have just gone from 33" TTC claws to 35" ATZ-P3's (M/T's) all terrain.

Truck - 2011 (pre ABS) 70 series cab/chassis (pic attached with 35"'s fitted)
Suspension/Lift - OME (ARB Fitted) 2" lift;
Wheel spacers - I have fitted 1.5" Snake Racing wheel spacers to correct rear wheel track issues;
Wheels - ROH BlakTrak 16x8 with 0 offset steelies;

Comments - With 33"s the truck used to cruise at 100km\h @ 2,450 rpm, with the 35"'s now fitted it cruises at 100km/h @ 1,800 rpm (you can barely hear it running). I'm not sure about fuel consumption figures just yet but I would suggest that I would be getting slightly better numbers as the engine isn't running quite as hard (open to comment on that one)!

The speedo is about 16.5% out of whack and I am in the process of fitting a "Marks adaptors" digital speedo correction unit which will solve this issue, as well as correct my odometer reading.

The 35" don't scrub on any portion of the body work (front or rear)! That being said I am about to commence a trip to the Cape (early June, 2015) so with a bit of articulation Ill find out if they scrub I guess!

I haven't had any issues with the "Snake Racing" wheels spacers. I spent a lot of time (as everyone does) researching wheels spacers (yes I know they are illegal) and ensured that I fitted them correctly. I used high strength thread-lock when fitting them and torqued them up correctly. I also marked the studs and nuts with nail polish so I can inspect them for movement, which I do very regularly. I've had them on now for over 12 months (which included a Simpson crossing & Fraser Island) and have had no issues.

Unread post by Ihz75 » May 12th, 2015, 3:23 pm

Hey fellahs

Been looking at getting a new set of muds for my 75 series. Look around for while and keep seeing different answers... Just curious to know if 33's on 15x10 -44 rims is recommended / legal? And if anyone has pics of a similar set up on -44 rims thatd be great! Cheers.
