Thoughts on these Prado 120s

Unread post by Spinxy » March 30th, 2015, 9:55 am

Firstly a little background. Currently have a 98 Nissan Patrol with a cracked head and i am looking for a good well reputed 4wd to replace it and the Toyota Prados have always been on my radar. So I've done some searching locally and have found these two Prados within 20min drive of Wallsend, NSW.

As I haven't purchased or looked at Prados before I was hoping some gurus on here could give me some assistance with them and what to look out for. I guess I would like a Prado with some mods done to it already to make things easier for myself and my fiancée, we are currently saving for a wedding and building a house in the next few months so will be adding to the house loan for the new 4wd

Hi Spinxy,
I suggest that you check out Pradopoint.com for all info on Prados. I am still a member and they are all knowledgable on Prados. Althought now owning a 2014 Y61 Patrol I've had the last 10 years in two V6 120 Prados and they were both great 4wds. I prefered the 120 in the V6 as they were a powerhouse compaired to the diesels.
Good luck with your purchase.

My thoughts would be for the 2008 models, they have the D4D motor and they are outside of the injector seat recall.

Possible for the dealer unit as they have to provide warranty. Best thing would be go inspect, get MRNA inspection done and go from there.

As Bazza said to to Pradopoint. Bulk info.

Cheers
