looking for ideas - what top 3 mods would you make?

Unread post by Benny_Goldman » June 16th, 2014, 7:10 pm

Hi Everyone ... I have a 98 model auto 3.4 v6 Prado that is used for a family car .... it is stock standard at the moment and I am wanting to set it up for touring ( sometime soon in the future I want to visit the simpson and the cape ) and to do some light to moderate rock climbing .... there will be 2 adults and 3 teenage children in the vehicle and on the longer trips ( simmo and cape ) I will be towing a camp trailer .... any ideas on your top 3 mods for this vehicle would be appreciated for thought fodder

Cheers Benny

Benny, welcome to the forum.

I have 90 series that I have setup for touring and my top three mods are:-
1) snorkel - to breath clean (and dry) air.
2) 2in suspension lift with rear airbags - this will get you through most tracks.
3) I choose light truck mud terrain tires (Goodyear Wrangler MT/R) and have never looked back - it will transform your 90 series into a weapon.

Hi Benny,
I've got a 1997 90 series.
I've fitted:
1.A snorkel
2.A 2 inch lift
3. A 2 inch mandrel exhaust, the extra power and improved fuel economy is noticeable.
I'm about to get the tailshafts overhauled(balanced) due to the lift.
I also fitted nolathane suspension bushes which has improved the handling.
