Still gotta fit my Free Wheelin hubs and get some extended brake lines....hopefully before Xmas anyway...

Hey 4bdan,

it is looking very tidy....
Can't wait for mine to be painted next week. Hopefully I can get it back on the road before the new year.
Does anyone know where in sydney I can get a new chrome rear bar from???

Cheers mate.

As far as a "new" rear bar goes, I don't think you will get one anywhere. Your best bet is too hunt around at the wreckers or Evilbay.

What colour did you end up going with?

I'm pretty sure he hasn't actually painted it yet and Deceptikon is in Albion Park.

Fair enough - I've just seen one tearing about with what looks like a non professional black paint job with black wheels and a chrome bar

Thanks, it does the job. In the new year it'll get a Body lift and maybe susp. Finally install the intercooler.

This was my old runner

When I first got it it was standard and pretty much worn out, so I rebuilt it...

Rebuilt the engine inc pistons, ring, bearings etc freshed up the head with new springs, valves etc, and fitted a Garrett turbo from the 5L engine
Rebuilt the gearbox with new syncros and third gear
Rebuilt the diffs
Fitted 2 inch OME suspension
Fitted a bullbar and 9000lb winch from a later model hilux

We did a whole heap of work to it and basically i ended up with a new truck. Drove it around for 4 years and had a great time with it, then sold it to a local kid who left it unlocked and it got stolen. All my hard work went up in smoke when they flicked a match to the 20lts of petol they doused the car in....
