2" body lift, 2" suspension lift. 33x11" tyres on cruiser offset rims. No rubbing on the rear, scrub hard on the front
Same with 32x11.5 on cruiser rims

Image

Same as above with 33x12.5" tyres. Cruiser offset rim. Rub hard on the chassis on the rear limiting flex, rub hard on the front again

Image

2" body lift, prob around 4" suspension lift, cross over steering. 35x12.5" on 15x10 cruiser rims.

Still rubbed front guard, also did the same with 4" body lift very lightly
Image

Now 2" body lift, I think 2" spring lift. 37x12.5" tyre on patrol offset rims with GU front diff. Front diff forward 4-5". Guards cut at front. Still grabs the front of the guard. If it was on lux diffs it might tuck tho, and maybe not have as much up travel.

My hilux is a LN65 running 35" silverstone extremes. To fit them i've got a 2" body lift, extended shackles and IFS rear springs in the rear. The front tires hit the guard which will be fixed with a RUF soon enough.

Standard sagged IFS, with 2 inch body lift and engine/trans lift. 33 inch MTR Kevlars (measure 33.4" @40psi) on 15 x 8 -23 wheels. Would rub on gaurd and flare till i clearanced them. If i could have wound the torsion bars up, they probably would have cleared (they were rusted solid)
Image

After SAS. RUF and extended shackles, standard rear IFS with extended shackles. Still has body/engine/trans lift
Image

Same setup with 35x12.5-15 creepies, 15 x 8 -23 steel wheels. Tyres would touch the bottom of rear flares at full bump, had to cut the lower part of the cab flare. Also folded the inner gaurd seam in the front wheel arches.
Image

Same setup with 37x14.50-15 creepies, 15 x 10 -44 steel wheels. Front tyres hit the body mount on full compression (which has been massaged). Rear gaurds have been stretched 60mm so i can modify the flares and put them back on.

Fitting different wheels and tyres to 2014 Hilux Dual Cab

Unread post by Jute » January 28th, 2014, 5:18 pm

Hi Guys
Just purchased a new 2014 model SR Dual Cab Hilux and Pick it up next week.
It is getting a GVM upgrade prior to registration which has a side benefit of a (about) 50MM suspension lift.
The new 2014 model Hiluxes SR and SR5 both come with 17 diam rims. (6in steel SR and 7.5in Alloy SR5)

I was about to trade the existing SR wheels and tyres already on the car for:
16inch x 7 inch steel rims( +28 offset) fitted with 265/75/R16 BF Goodrich A/T tyres.( 31.6 in overall diam)

I have two questions
1: Will the 16 inch wheels fit? ( told a possibility they will not fit as may hit larger brake calpers with larger diam wheels?)
2: Any issues with overall diameter (31.6inch )with the 50mm suspsension lift, as I do not want anything scrubbing.?

If i cannot fit as planned ( 16inch) I will be forced to go 7 inch x 17 inch steel wheel and 265/70/R17 tyres for the same overall diam. but more cost and less rubber between rim and rock.

Any help appreciated as even Toyota and the rim manufacturer are not sure and I have conflictinf info.
