Got or want bigger tyres? Come in here... ;)

Unread post by Nemesis » June 4th, 2011, 12:29 pm

Okay guys, we need your collective experience for some research on the unbreakables.

What we need to know is whether you have 33" tyres, or managed to squeeze 35" tyres under your Hilux, particularly newer models but all wanted.

If so, how much lift required to do the job? Spring lift? Body lift? Guard chops?

Unfortunately, knowing your brothers mates cousins second best mate apparently did x" for x tyres won't cut it. We need facts if possible, what lift fits what tyres, guaranteed.

Your proven advice will go a long way to helping a lot of people!

Cheers
Nem ;)

Ive got 33x12.5 on my solid axle hilux, with just a 2 inch body lift and some very sagged suspension. I would guess it sits about the same height as a standard hilux. The tyres rub just on full lock and a bit more when flexing, but nothing to be concerned about

Ive got an 86 Lux, with only a 2inch body lift, running 35s daily, and 33inch Swampers for play.
The tyres rub on the rear of the front guards under any flex, so when I do RUF, and move the front diff forward, it should be sweet.

The Swampers do more damage to the guards than the 35s, but you get that.
