I've had a few beers at both the Nindigully and the Noccundra pubs over the years. Great spots too. We used to take the jetski's out on the Wilson River, about 5km from the Noccundra, ski all day and drink all night. I seem to remember that you have to duck a lot when walking around inside the Noccundra - low doorways!!!

Flares are a good 100mm out, I would doubt Rails will fit them as standard (I'm not sure of their profile/measurements). I would think a small modification to the rails would do the job though and be and great help saving the rework on the Flares.

Lurch, Mate what size wheels and tyres do you have. I'm looking at the same style (XD Monsters or Hoss's if I have too) and would like to know how it drives and feels with the new rims and tyres.I'd really like to keep with the 17's as I'm not sure how it would go stepping up to 18's and then trying to get tyres to suit. What offset did you get? How's you fuel figures going?
Sorry for all the questions but I'll be in the market for new tyres soon for the 'cruiser and was looking at rims as well trying to match a Kedron van with the same rims/tyre package.

Cheers
Olly

Olly,

So far they are great. 18" XD from SD wheel corp in USA fitted with Nitto trial grapplers 275/70/R18 on a P35 offset. Got them in a deal due to getting 6 rims and tyres- bit off a fuss with customs getting them in. But with the 200 alot of gear has to come from USA as most rims here I didnt like the way they looked. Fuel economy hasn't changed dramatically but never really been to worried about it as it relies on the right foot alot. You can get them like mine in matte black or chromed. I was a bit worried about the profile from going to 18" instead of 17" but they have turned out better than expected.

Hi All,

Some may know me from the front cover of custom utes magazine april 2011, the blue sr5 hilux which I have now sold.

I wanted something with a bit more luxury and comfort with the new family on board, so I recently purchased a Sahara 2008 Petrol.

Did my first 4WD trip last weekend, what better than the old bendethera valley! Had a ball. It got up some of the climbs easier than a mate's 02 hilux with front and rear lockers...

This week the arb deluxe bullbar, hid lightforce spotties and antennas etc will be fitted. Can't wait to get rid of the temporary bonnet mount antenna that bent about 10 times on the trip! After this a trip to the boys at ultimate suspension to fit a 2" lift with hopefully a much better product than OME can provide.

Tyres! I'm doing my head in trying to decide... keen on muddies but had such a horrible ride in the Hilux I am scared to go muddies again... although I think it was more the OME suspension (would not recommend at all) otherwise I think I am leaning towards the 4 rib ATZ's at the moment!

Regards
Matt
