Where's the best place to get reasonably priced Front axles?

Unread post by BATTLE TRUCK » February 19th, 2017, 5:26 pm

Guys, I did my front swivel hubs about 5000 km's ago, but when I did it I noticed the axles (left and right) were quite worn where the axle seal goes. I replaced it all only to find that it leaked within a few thousand k's. Doing a trip in June so thought I'd check the front bearings and the diff oil has washed out most if not all of the grease. Looks like I'm going to have to replace the axles and do it all again. Where's the best place to get some reasonable priced front axles?

I haven't tried but you may be able to get stainless SPEEDI Sleeves from a bearing service place which will tap over the affected area and seal well with new seals.
The Bushes in the axle housing may require replacement to stop the axle flopping about and not wear out the seals prematurely.

I speedi sleeve them the whole time - works great and is a long term fix
