G'day mate, Macquarie 4x4 http://www.macquarie4x4.com.au/ have a bit of a name for themselves, I've never used them but heard good reports. All the main service centres that will be close to you will be in Windsor or Thornleigh http://www.mannellmotors.com.au/ is another that has a decent rep.

We do not think you are a moron, we have all read the wrong page at some time or another.
With the service, have a good search through the dot indicators at the 200k section or if it doesn't go to that the 100k or 150k section. Valve adjustment, brake fluids and transmission fluids will be there too.

Who ever does the service , make sure the brake fluid reservoir is completely cleaned out and then new fluid flushed all through all wheels, same through clutch system if manual. No wheels on that bit though.

Cheers mate.

The mechanics I have gone with are the same guys who changed the pads and rotors on my partners clubsport. They looked after her good as I was away with work at the time. I also want diff breathers put on and the gear box serviced and its all come in a shade under a gorrila so i'm fairly happy with that.

Pro Repair Group are the blokes.

Thanks for your help lads.

Anyone recommend a decent Mechanic around Western Sydney?

Unread post by mrtonya » October 13th, 2013, 8:06 am

G'day
I picked up a load of bad fuel (petrol) in Normanton, Qld.
I made it to Mt Isa and paid a lot to a rough mechanic to repair the hilux.
I'm currently in western Sydney (Parramatta) and the ute is not running well, I don't think the Mt Isa guys got all the crap out of the tank.
Can anyone recommend a decent mechanic in or around Parramatta?
Thanks

diff mechanic/specialist in sutherland shire

Unread post by Heffacow » October 15th, 2013, 2:02 pm

Hi All,

does anyone know of a dif specialist/mechanic in the Sutherland Shire (Southern Sydney)? I need someone to put in a 4wd systems lokka into my VDJ78R Troopy and the 4wd shops here will not do it, they only want to sell their lockers. The reason I'm using the lokka is that i've had them in my old troopy and my nearly to be sold GU & i've had no problem whatsoever with them.
the first guy to fit it charged way too much and the second is too far away now, since i've moved.

Any help is appreciated.

thanks, those guys r on the list but have their own lockers so I thought they'd push them rather than fit a Lokka.

Anyone else?

Hey mate, might be a bit of a drive for you but I take my 4by and have taken all my other cars to the Midas at Heathcote (at the Caltex on the Princes Hwy). Craig's a good bloke (the owner) I've never had a problem with him or the boys over the past 10 odd years :)

Cheers,
