Clark Automotive is near Hornsby, my GQ has been there many times, they specialise in 4wds and diesels.

Mannell Motors is in Thornleigh, close to Hornsby. Nick Mannell has a good reputation and has Patrols.

Re:mechanic - hornsby (sydney)
I know it's a bit of a drive from Hornsby, but if you want your diesel done right then there's no other choice but West End Diesel. They were a little pricey but what they did to my old beater MQ was phenomenal. I can take hills in 4th now
without smoking the buggery out of everyone. Like I said you might find someone cheaper but if I had the choice again i'd still throw a few extra sheckels into getting it done right.

Re:mechanic - hornsby (sydney)
I got some work done with Mannell through clarks, (clarks sent it to them) and Clarks pointed out and showed me the shoddy work that they did, such as fuel filter hanging by fuel lines etc. when they got it back, so i got them to fix it all and i wont be going back to Mannells.

Re:mechanic - hornsby (sydney)
thanks for the info guys. sounds like clarks might be worth a look in. are they in the salisbury road area?
i would go to mannel's. i haven't heard 1 good thing about them from their service to their price. i think the only thing they're good at is advertising.
cheers simple

pmsl Mick.
well it's running great now, the 5spd went in on Saturday (massive thanks to Rick and Liam at BBMotorsport and Stigg across the fence at 4WD Megastores Blacktown for their hard work and great skills), and at the moment I'm getting custom shafts made up. Bolt them in, fill the box with oil and I'll be ready to go break things at Fraser!

Diesel mechanic in qld???
My lux has died a couple of times on the way to work, and i need to know of a good diesel mechanic to have a look at it. I am pretty sure its to do with my fuel. I do it all myself usually but this time its beyond my fixer-uppering skills. any suggestions of a good mechainc would be great. Any area eg Springwood, Carole Park, Rocklea, Archerfield, Browns Plains, (south east Qld).
Cheers
Dave

i've used highway diesel services at 26 annie coopers plains before when the injector pump in my old lux sprung a big leak, it cost about $1300 to fix from memory, with the injectors also getting some work doneon them. my brother also got his old lux fixed there as well for the same thing but his was around the $1000 as the pump wasn't as bad as mine was, different model as well. can't say a bad word about them from those 2 experiences, same day drop off and pick up that arvo which was good.
