I really don't know, hence the thread I started on the subject. I'll try as you suggested next weekend and see how we go.

Ah, it's a big move. I sometimes regret selling mine. But then I wouldn't give up the 105 and move back. Then the guy that bought the 60 really needed a good 4wd and it was nice to kit him out with a solid well cared for car. Tell us, what are you getting?

Sorry for the slow reply. Yep, moving to a 105. It'll be sad to see the 60 go. The wife likes it but she really wants the mod cons. She's not a good traveller and the rougher ride and lack of air con plays with her motion sickness. She's only happy on long drives if she's driving and she can't drive more than about an hour without stopping. I, on the other hand can do a 6 hour stint no worries so love it when she sleeps for 2-3 hours while I'm driving but this doesn't happen in the 60. I'm hoping that the move to coil springs will make her more comfortable. Also, while I wouldn't say it's been unreliable, it is 600,000km old. I have 24-48 hour long weekends and am not home during the week so minor issues become major issues. I really want something that sits there just waiting to be driven.

Actually took it out for a decent drive off-road on the weekend just gone. Went with a mate from work in his 2.8 Hilux off the edge of the Toowoomba Range. Nothing too extreme, explored some new tracks we hadn't been down before. Found some really gnarly hillclimbs that haven't been driven in a long while, back-tracked a bit when we kept finding Private Property signage on open gates. To finish off I managed to find a puddle big enough to swallow my truck (winched out) and then swallow the Hilux (winched out) before the Hilux's alternator died. Took me 2 hours with the pressure cleaner to get the foul smelling mud out of everything - but at least it's ready to go for the next run!

I cleaned the old girl. Scary I know as all she usually gets is a gerny. It started last weekend when I went to put the roof rack on. One look at the roof all dull and covered in black pits that after a quick wash stayed there I went this needs a polish. So started this chore and went this is too hard.

So I went out and bought a proper variable polisher/buffer thingo like they have at paint shops. 3 hours later and the result is pretty impressive :). Ok so the roof took a couple of goes but well worth it.
