What did you do to your 60 today?

Unread post by thommo60series » March 31st, 2010, 9:31 pm

today my old girl got some extended breathers as the original ones were leaking good enough excuse for me the rear one goes up front nicely in the chassis rail so l found out also put balance pipe between gear box and transfer case. you know the only problem with buying a 2nd or third hand rig is the bugger that owned it before you god had they stripped the filler plug on the transfer case and done it up with super human strenght anyways all done what has every one else done today:truck:

I just got some dome top allen key bolts for the wheel arches so now when I get flex it will not eat out my tyres! I also extended the breathers for the diffs. Does the gearbox and transfer case have breathers? If so, where should I look? If yes, I will do that as will :D

Hmm will in light of where they are, I think I'll pass on them this week. Have you guys done yours? Or are you not worrying about them because they are a bit hard to get too?

Maybe you can get to them through the shifter hole?

One thing I do want to do soon is the 'balance line' tube, which runs from the transfer case to the geabox, to prevent the issue of the gearbox oil draining into the transfer case. There is a thread on it now, just need some more info and pics before I do it.

The gearbox breathes thorugh the top where the shifter is. The transfer breather is on top, but it isn't a barb, it is a small one way valve )kind of hard to explain). The trick is to drill it out and tap a thread and put in a threaded barb fitting and run the breather off that. Transfer needs to be dropped out to do this.
