Can 60 series front disc brake be installed on a 40 diff?

Hi Guys
I have a question has anyone pulled off a 60 series front disc brake be and installed on a 40 diff setup

Yes it can be done as long as the 40 diff housing is the later model. The earlier housing has smaller swivel joints.
Simply remove the entire swivel (brakes and all) from the 60 series donor diff, remove the swivels off the 45 housing and replace them with the 60 series swivels. Late 45 housing and 60 series swivels. Easy done

There is a small amount of metal that needs to be ground away from the inside of the knuckle when you put in the 60 series parts.

it will become apparent when you start to do install it.

A good metal nibbler is all you need, just make sure no metal sneaks into the diff.

ive got a 60 series front diff on my car its to wide with 33s for nsw rego
So stoked about this
So when you say later model 40 diff is that 1980 and newer

All i need is a diff now

I think its 1977 and newer - with the 4 bolt pattern on the outside of the diff housing (where it bolts to the brake backing plate).

Be careful with the 60 series housing, you're widening the wheel track significantly. you will need to play with the steering and cut and weld the spring perches.

Technically the 60 housing is too wide to be legal, especially with 12.5 inch wide tires.
