60 series diff conversion done. Need park brake cable?!

Unread post by RaceFace » March 17th, 2016, 12:44 am

Hi All,

As the title states I have done a complete rear diff conversion fitting a 60 series housing in the back of my 45 series ute. I am now having troubles finding a park brake cable that will work with the conversion. My ute has the hand brake just under the dash and I need to get a cable that will go long enough to reach from the engine side of my firewall behind the dash to the rear diff housing. I have got a 60 series park brake cable that will work fine for the drum to drum cable but the 60 series cable only reaches to the floor between the drivers and passengers seat.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

I have been here before. You need the handbrake cable of a 79 series ute.

It is a tiny bit stretched compared to normal, but it works.
'98-'06 - FJ-45 Ute fell over one day and didnt survive
'06-now - HJ-47 Troopy, restored and now daily driver.
'13-now - HJ-47 Ute, Farm fresh rust bucket, needs a restoration. viewtopic.php?f=22&t=152811

now - Off Road Box/Camper Trailer. viewtopic.php?f=134&t=153968&p=1792444#p1792444

Dont listen to me, Ive got an opinion on everything!
