All panels had rust and took new steel. Chassis black on all previous rust spots, to stop the rust comming back.
So heres the truck back on the road.

How does she go with the 250? Any under bonnet pics? I'm thinking about ditching the 2H for a 304V8 or a 250 six.

My HJ45 and my 1st Toyota.

It's a bit of a basket case right now, with more bits in the tray than actually fitted to the vehicle. Basically everything 3" up from the bottom of the floor pan requires replacement as it spent a fair bit of time on the beach :worry: .

Going for the full restoration, so will be taking my time. This will be the colour when I'm done.

Image

I spent today going through all the bits, cleaning up small parts and dropping all the smaller parts with rust on them into a tub of molasses and water. I'm not sure of the chemical reaction, but after soaking for a few days the rust just wipes off and the steel is good as new. Not real good for ally though.

I hope I don't find a possum swimming in this tub  .
