SHOW US YOUR 45/47

Unread post by zook2412 » October 10th, 2011, 8:29 pm

i have searched the forum and i cant find a thread for 40 series lwb utes anywhere , so i thought i would start one off with my mild old girl . she is going to be 5 inches higher with a front locker in about 2 months so i will be with that . since then i have had alot of rust cut out and fixed , as well as a snorkel , a new tray and she is cream know , waiting for those rims to go maroon with black beadlocks .

Here's mine. Had her for about 5 years now. She's needs a lot of TLC. One day ill get to it.

She's a 1983 HJ47 Dual Cab Arkana, 2H with 4 speed.

I have managed to get my hands on factory 40 series power steering and a fairey overdrive which will be fitted when she is rebuilt. I know I could put 60 series power steering and a 5 speed but I love the 'novelty' of the original gear.

She will make the perfect 4x4 for the weekend coast trips up to Gnaraloo, Warroorra and Quobba when im finished spending some $$$$ on her.

Cant wait!

This is my old truck. 1982 HJ47 with 12HT motor, power steering, 5 speed, LSD in rear (waste of time :( i'll put lockers in soon), handbrake on the back wheels. I've owned this one for 1 and a half years but i have only ever owned 40's :)

Thanks zook2412. I'm not worried about the intake as its mostly my DD and work around my property and bush work. No call for water crossings. Bit of beach too. I do have a snorkel for it so if the need arises down the track I'll make a custom air cleaner up an fit the snorkel.
