Got (or want?) bigger tyres? Come in here!

Unread post by Nemesis » June 4th, 2011, 12:36 pm

Okay guys, we need your collective experience for some research on Raiders/ Courier utes.

What we need to know is whether you have 33" tyres, or managed to squeeze 35" tyres under your vehicle.

If so, how much lift required to do the job? Spring lift? Body lift?

Unfortunately, knowing your brothers mates cousins second best mate apparently did x" for x tyres won't cut it. We need facts if possible, what lift fits what tyres, guaranteed.

Your proven advice will go a long way to helping a lot of people!

Cheers
Nem ;)

I've got a 99 courier with a 2 inch suspension lift and a 2 inch body lift and I fitted 33's no scrub. But blew my diff and got defected for running 33's so sold them And bought 31's

31x10.5 here too on 15x8 -26 sunraysias. Extra wheel track is good for stability, looks great but inner front guard scrubs on full compression and full lock - i can live with that. Wound up torsions no lift on the rear.

Will repost again in three months time (hopefully less), I'm playing on squeezing 245x85r16's (33.3's) Maxxis Bighorns under my 89 Courier. I've anticipated a 2" suspension lift and a 1" body lift, if that doesn't give me enough clearance then I'll chop the guards and add spacers.

Sorry it's not much help at this stage, less than three months and I'll provide some feedback :waycool:

33's will fit with a 2" lift and 2" bodylift. Did on Maztruck, but took them off as they robbed too much power

I have an 05 V6 Courier with 2" suspension lift running 32" x 11.5 muddies on stell rims (0 offset i think)with a very small trim to the plastic tabs on the front guards with no rubbing at all.

yep, rims shouldn't be a problem, tires will depend on the size of course.

On what? either way gearing would probably be a biatch... I have 31s on my 2.6 petty and gearing is at about its limit....i certainly wont be going to 33s without changing the final drive ratio

was running 265/75r16 on my 04' 2.5 turbo didnt go to bad have seen some getting round with 33's on them. have just gone back to 31's after goin to hard for 2 years with 32's. didnt notice to much difference in fuel mileage just be a case of using low range more often and dont be in a hurry to take off goin up hills on the highway haha :)
