Brissie mech? Where do you get your 4By serviced?

Unread post by Timetogetawa » September 3rd, 2013, 9:45 am

Hello guys

I had to make a new user name as my old one died and wouldn't let me log back in
http://www.4wdaction.com.au/users/timetogetawa

But my question is to the brissie people. where do you go to get it serviced ??? the old girl has done a few km 225k she is still going strong but want someone who knows what they are doing. Would prefer the south side but willing to travel a bit.

As this is my first diesel my a little green when it comes to service and what needs to be done.

Recommend a diesel/Turbo mechanic Sutherland shire?

Unread post by Muddy Dazza » March 23rd, 2014, 2:24 pm

Can anyone recommend a good diesel mechanic to repair a turbo in the Sutherland Shire.
My 2008 GU Patrol has a whine coming from the turbo at sudden acceleration and sounds like the turbine vanes are rubbing.
There appears to be tiny metal specks in the turbo tube to the intercooler.
I have used Evan Cox Automotive at Kirrawee before for a gearbox rebuild and found the service very good.

Know of a Modern diesel Expert in Perth?

Unread post by stewart82 » March 30th, 2014, 11:38 pm

G'day

Does anyone know of a modern diesel expert in Perth?

I have some problems with my 2007 BT50 115000km - rough idle with engine rattle, power decrease etc, engine light.

I want to avoid Mazda service - I took it in for its 110000km service with the above problems and they didn't fix it, only cleared the codes. I made the mistake of picking the car up at 4:50pm and had no time to dispute. I was even more frustrated the next morning when I realised that they had fitted new wiper blades and sprayed my tyres with tyre black instead of fixing my problem.

Ideally I will form a relationship with a quailty diesel expert in perth and he/she will always have my business.

Thanks!

I've not had experience from a customer perspective, but Could try Commercial Automotive in Berringarra Ave Malaga,
Services late model Mercedes Sprinter and VW LT35/46's (Commercial vans)
Could be worth a phone call.
If it can't be fixed with duct tape or a hammer, It must be electrical

Stewart82, mate it's bad in Perth, there are stuff all places (with experts), I know of United Fuel, I think they're in Canning Vale, and a place in Wangara, 'diesel injection specialist', or something to that effect.
They're the only ones I'm aware of, we certainly could do with more places in Perth, I think half of them struggle to change a tyre but!

Best place for a diesel service in Perth

Unread post by dan-mac » August 18th, 2014, 9:34 am

Hey blokes im looking at chucking my Patrol in for a service this week, its the first service ive got since owning her and i owned a petrol car before this.

Was just wondering if i should go to someone diesel specific or just use the company i used to use with my petrol car, as they were fairly reliable with that.
