Hi all, recently my dads hilux has seized on the road. When we pulled it apart we found the oil pickup blocked with carbon which I’ve been told is quite common. So it’s spun #4 big end bearing and started to pick up #3. The crank is stuffed along with the #4 rod, but we got a hold of a second hand engine with a cracked piston but the crank is good with really low k’s. The hilux is a 2007 1kd Diesel and the other spare engine is out of a 150 series Prado. I’ve spoken with Toyota to order new bearings and gaskets to put her back together but they have told me they’re not sure how it will go with the Prado crank in the hilux block as they are different part numbers and slightly different blocks. Does anyone know if the crank will be compatible? I’m yet to compare them together, but curious as to what’s different about them? If anyone has any information or experience behind this, please tell. haha. Thanks in advance
