i looked into it a while back. i don't know if they fit but it is impossible to ge tyres with the right load and speed rating in a 15 inch rim :D
Moderate amount of kit......... Still a bloody long list to go!

They most certainly do but with a 225/75R15LT tyre. Trying to find a decent 4wd tyre with the correct load rating is next to impossible.
2004 RA crew cab/chassis 3.0TD - Snorkel, bullbar, UHF, longrange fuel tank. sliders almost done
1999 Jackaroo 3.5l V6 - bullbar. The family bus.

Re: the load and speed rating issue. As far as I was aware a 4wd tyre must have a speed rating of not less than N (140kmh) to be legal in Australia, regarless of what is stated by the manufacturer.

The standard tyres Bridgestone Dueller 247/70R16 have a load rating of 111(1090kg) and speed of S(180kmh).

Mickey Thompson and cooper both have tyres in 15" rated equal or better for load and N or better for speed. So I don't think this should be an issue.

I'm far from an expert tho. Anyone ?

RA Rim Sizes

Unread post by Oigle » September 14th, 2007, 9:59 pm

Hello Hellonasty
15x7 should fit depending on the offset of the rim and the width of the tyre you plan to put on. The 16x7 have an offset of 38mm whilst the 15x6.5 have a 41 mm offset, so if you use a 38 mm offset rim with a tyre no wider than 245 you should be fine. It is possible to fit a 255 tyre, but you need an offset around 33 mm to be legal without having to add flare extensions, and to not hit the front stabiliser bar. The load and speed rating thing is a bit of a technical nightmare. The maximum axle load (rear in this case) is 1680 kg, which translates to a 102 (850 kg) rated tyre as a minimum, however the placard on a 4x4 RA states a minimum of 111 (1090 kg), which is far in excess of what is technically required, but if the vehicle is checked, this would make it technically non ADR compliant, even though it was still safe. The speed rating of S is the minimum as the V6 variants will do this speed (limited).
Cheers
