DIFFLOCKS ring and pinions etc for KIA SPORTAGE available

Unread post by 4runnernomore » November 19th, 2011, 8:14 pm

Hi all,

For all those that are interested I have purchased a front difflock for my sportage from Kaiser. http://www.kaiserlocker.com/en/

I have also established contact with a company in Korea that still sells gear for the Sportage. http://www.offroad.co.kr/shop/main/index.php you will need a translator tool as the site is in Korean.

I have already purchased and recieved a set of 50 mm extended front forks from them.

Other items available are front and rear difflocks( rear for 28 spline models only 98 on), 5.38 ring and pinions and adjustable panhard rod.

Hope this is of interest for other Sporty owners. I can PM you the contact email address if you are interested in making contact with the exporter for offroad.co.kr

Cheers, Chris

Just got back from a trip to America.

My difflock for the front diff arrived just before Christmas.

How are you going with the front Kaiser locker? I just bought one for front and rear of my 80 series.

hi DX Cruiser,
I have not fitted the locker as yet. I have sourced a set of Crown Wheel and Pinns in 5.38 ratio from Korea that I will be fitting at the same time.

will let you know how the locker goes once it is fitted.

Cheers, Chris

G'day 4runnernomore,
I'm really keen to know how you are going with the front difflock and well done on tracking it down.
I have been slowly modifying my sporty and would love to get a front difflock but just want to know if they work as well as they advertise. I have been keeping an eye on the Kaiser Website whilst frantically saving cash, but have noticed recently that it seems to no longer exist. Strange, I hope they are still going as I want to get one later in the year. Once again well done on getting the difflock, you would have to be one of only a few.
Best regards.

Well long time in the making but I have finally had the front difflock R&P's fitted combined with 245x75r16 bridgestone D674's fitted up. This combination from the small amount of driving so far suits the Sporty really well.

The Sportages aleays feel like they are a bit short in the gearing. This combo has evened it up to be very tractable. Will see how good it when I hook up the trailer or camper behind it and take it for a driv.

Any body considering it it is worth the effort.

cheers, Chris

that a great effort with the build chris.
chasing up parts for lesser known brands can be a lot of fun  .I know, I have sourced parts from America ,Russia and china and still chasing more
I have heard stories of some the lighter built cars having problems breaking axles and stuff with front lockers, love to hear more as you go along

Take a look under an early model Sporty some time, they are actually quite sturdily built.
Haven't owned a 2WD since 1982.
