Are these the same things on MK Triton V6 motors? Or different sensors?
The reason being my Triton died after running badly for a week or so and it seems that it could be the camshaft sensor after reading this article about it: https://www.yourmechanic.com/article/sy ... ion-sensor
I'm a little confused whether they are also called crank angle position sensors, or if they are different sensors?
Thanks
Is it Crank Angle Position Sensor? or Camshaft Sensor?

they are different. Crank angle sensors are usually near the front crank pulley, and work off a magnet attached to it. the cam sensor will be in a position close to the cam, in the head very close to the cam so it can pick up the magnetic pulse from the cam. Faulty sensors will cause similar symptoms, but the crank sensor will stop your motor when it finally s***s itself, and is the most common failure, especially because it is low, gets covered in oil, gets wet when you drive thru water etc.

Thanks for the reply. Is it a difficult job to get to the crank sensor? Is it just a matter of taking out the radiator, fan etc then removing the timing cover?
Thanks again

check this

There appears to be 2 bolts which hold it on, It bolts to the timing cover area on the outside of the motor. Get under & have a look around the front lower pulley.

Doesn't the crank angle sensor on the MK operate off a magnet on the flywheel via a port in the bell housing?
