Hey Tuff, I meant to post this in your build up thread afew you got back form the Cape. How do you rate the V8 compared to the 1hdfte and overall is there much differance between the 79 and your new rig ?

Love the ute, it's pretty much my dream rig :D

cheers
James.

Honistly, It has'nt got as much power as the old jigger but it does'nt have a chip like my old one did, everything else is the same similar fuel usage, handeld a little differnt with the wheel track being wider in the front but no big deal, but i am impressed with its torque for a standard motor they have plenty of go..... cant wait 2 chip it!!!!!!!!

No problem, glad to help.

Just put on a 3" exhaust a few days ago as well. (Local WA manufacture, bolt on mandrel bend mild steel, turbo back, no large muffler). Sounds nice :-). Does rev free'er than before. No dyno or anything, but does feel livelier on the 'seat of the pants dyno'.

Plus without the '44gallon drum muffler' under there any more, there's all this extra space. Wonder if I can fit an extra water tank or something in that space.

Chip will have to wait till the next payday probably.

John

Guys, just bought 07 GXL VDJ70R. Pics were on carsales.com but now removed so I was to slow to post them up. Presently has got 3" zorst, Shelley Ind. tray, sandgrabber floor mats, gen. Toyota sheepskin seatcovers, ARB deluxe bar & 36000ks. At the moment it is getting airlockers fitted, next week 5" lift & 315/75/16 mtz on 16x8 rims. Now all I have to do is get it from Brisbane to WA.
Regards Jaz.
