Ironman fridge freezer

Unread post by muzza01 » March 11th, 2010, 7:15 pm

Sorry to bring up fridges again. Have searched for a review on the new ironman fridge to no avail. I am looking at buying the "ice cube 45lt with danfos compressor. They retail for $1100. Has anyone heard how they rate? I am also interested in the new ARB.

Yeah I have heard about them but I haven't used one. They were getting a good wrap by everyone on the dvd's a little while ago, nothing mentioned of late though, I guess the advertising dollars stopped ;)

Which DVD?

In any case, most of the content is... err... 'sponsored', so unless it was a full-on review, I wouldn't pay too much mind to it. Roothy has gone Waeco, Explorer and ARB without batting an eyelid... Heck, Explorer even got a 'sponsored' article out of it.

For that kind of dollar you can get ARB, Waeco or Engel - all of which are tried 'n' tested. Why piss around?

True; I was also thinking ARB. I would be able to buy Ironman for a lot less than retail so i could save around $500. I know others are good but just wanted to see if anyone had tried and tested the ironman.

prob. as good as any with a danfoss.. but for 1100 i'd go for a waeco.
but if you can get the ironman for 500 less then why not! the danfoss is a good compressor. waeco warranties them for 5 years

Yep, how stupid is that? Would've cost an extra 2 bucks to manufacture...

If you want a danfoss compressor, must of the major fridge makers use them. I am not too knowledgeable on the Ironman fridges, but I see that Waeco's are quite a good price if you get them at the right time. The fridgemate's are good value too. A mate loves them. Though, that's not to say the Ironman's are bad. It's always best to look at them in person before you buy!
