You've asked for it, and we've delivered.

Here's a place to show off all of your photography !

To help out users on slower internet connections, please use these guidelines when posting images:

1. Maximum dimensions of 640x480 pixels.
2. Maximum filesize of 200kb per image (most online image hosts won't allow anything else anyway)
3. If you are posting more than 6 pictures please put a *DIALUP WARNING* at the end of your topic title when posting.
4. Pictures are now a whole lot easier to post, thanks to our attachment function. Of course, you're still welcome to host images elsewhere. Please see my following post for how to post pictures.

All up, enjoy!

Ok, here's how to use the attachment manager to post pictures.

First off, hit 'Reply' to open up a new post. You'll notice if you scroll down the bottom a button that says 'Manage Attachments':
Image

Click it. It will bring up this pop-up window (you may need to disable pop-up blockers depending on your software):
Image
Click the 'Browse' button, and locate the image on your computer. Click 'ok'.

Then simply click the attach button, and you're done!

Happy postings,

How do you post a picture but not in thunbnail form? I can easily post my pictures as thumbnails but can't seem to post them as a full screen image (if that makes sense).
Cheers.
Ash.

For that you have to have your photo's hosted elsewhere, on a site such as Photobucket, you upload to that site, then you put a link in your message (the img link), and it shows up without thumbnails, much to the dissapointment of dial-up users, lol.

Hi guys, i am starting to use the 'manage attachments' to post my pics on here, but when i upload some i get this message.............
The Dimension limits for this filetype are 640 x 480. We were unable to resize your file so you will need to do so manually and upload it again. Your file is currently 1704 x 2272.
How do i correct it please, so i can use this and not go through a host site ????.

You just need to scale your pic down from 1704 x 2272 pixels to the 640x480 size before attaching

also your software that came with your camera would have the feature of scaling images down suitable for email. I just use that for any images I want on my home computer.

You can also use Paint, use CTRL W and you will be able to resize the pic then just saved as resized and upload from there ;)

I have found this the easiest since we lost our copy of photoshop.

Or can use the custom part just under that, I just went in & did a bit of trial & error & now I just remove a couple of hundred from both (but the same from each).:D

You can make your photo a link to your Photobucket / Flickr / Ipernity page.
  1. Each site has a section where you can copy and paste the image url, copy that.
  2. In this forum use the 'Insert Image' and paste the images URL into the box.
  3. On the other site go back to the photos main page.
  4. Copy the URL for the page.
  5. Come back to the forum and highlight the image.
  6. Click on the 'Insert Link' and paste in the URL for the page on your photo host.
Now if someone clicks on your image it will take them to your photo hosting page for that image. If needed I can do up some screen captures.
