Buffer, I moved a large swath of pages from the "Occasionally ending thread" into history the other day? Did you have a heap of posts in that? Moving them shouldn't change your post count..... but it's not impossible that it did???

Thanks Peter, yes i did have quite a few in that post, as yes it did remove around 50 or so posts, thanks. That probs what happened awhile ago when the forum was revamped and threads moved around.

Cheers for that.

Think you would have to rotate them before you upload them?

Hi Moderators
I have a question is there any way to click to view the middle of a large thread that I was reading but only got up to page 40 & the thread has more than 150 pages . how can I click on page 41 when I log back on to the thread !

Sadly you cannot, however there are a couple of work arounds..
If you haven't read any of the later posts in the thread, there should be an orange little box next to the thread title, if you click this it will take you to what it thinks is the last unread post in the thread (not always accurate)
This will add

Code: Select all

&view=unread#unread
to the end of the url
Alternatively you can add a number of posts to the end of the url and that will pick the page for you, for memory there are by default 15 posts per page so some math gets you the number you need to get to page 40..
Add something like this to the end (or update the number)

Code: Select all

&start=915
Page 61 of this thread is:

Code: Select all

http://4wdaction.com.au/forum/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=105722&start=900
while page 62 is

Code: Select all

http://4wdaction.com.au/forum/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=105722&start=915
Not perfect but can get you close, hope that helps

They have been broken for a while, unfortunately there are other issues higher on the priority list I believe.

Sorry TLC, you'll hafta give us a link to the actual thread.... the index listing can change from moment to moment &/or depending on who/how the search is done, so each of us will almost always have a different '2nd thread' to you unless we search at the same time. :(

Wouldn't hurt to tell us which side the icon is either, left or right?!

This is the thread in question that the icon if that is what it is called it appears on the bottom left attached to the larger icon , the one that changes depending on if you have read the latest posting or not. Sometimes a lock appears when a Moderator closes the thread for some reason in the same place.
I can still click on the link from my post on this thread & it is still there.

OK Peter I think I know why you cant see it from my link is cause the list is from MY POST cause after sending the last post it has now moved to the third post on the list & probable after this post it will move to the fourth post.
It is a yellow circle that changes to red with a black dot in it.

Not quite sure exactly which icon you are talking about sorry.. Not sure if you could take a screenshot and upload it to clarify?
But yes the my posts search is only threads you have posted in sorted by most recently posted to (you or otherwise) so different for everyone. If you or someone else posts in one of those threads then the order will change.

The following might help in the meantime..

Two general points
- Red icons are unread items, blue/grey are read
- A star on any topic means you have posted in it

Image - Announcement
Image - Sticky topic
Image - Read topic
Image - Unread topic
Image - Read topic that you have posted in
Image - Unread topic that you have posted in
Image - Hot topic
Image - Locked topic
Image - Moved topic
Image - Forum with subforums (which have been read)
Image - Forum with subforums (which are unread)
Image - Link forum
Image - Attachment
Image - Go to last post in the topic
Image - Go to last unread post in the topic
Image - Subforum read
Image - Subforum unread

Hi Mods
For some reason this thread doesn't have the option of upload an attachment as on other threads.
I have taken a screen shot on my mobile of both the icon & this Post A Reply without the option of Upload An Attachment & can email to somewhere or try & see if a new thread will allow to upload an attachment.

Cheers TLC60S

What browser are you using TLC?? That no upload attachment thing seems to be something unique to you, or at least unique to some group of posters that you are a part of, it's not something to do with the thread!??! But I checked your permissions and I can see what you mean about there being no upload attachments (for you anyway) so I'll see if I can find any reason for that.

In the meantime, could you PM me the attachment so I can see it, maybe even post it up here for you so everyone else can see it too?
