STOLEN from Newport Vic - 2002 Landcruiser Ute - ICU 4SP

As a parent you spend a lot of time worrying about your kids so you spend much of their upbringing trying to instil the values and interests you hope they’ll display in adulthood.

As a keen traveller I was wrapped to see our young bloke develop a passion for the bush and 4x4ing. From the age of 14 he knew just what vehicle he wanted and worked his guts out after school, weekends and school holidays still to this day. Whether it was waiting at a local restaurant or pulling tyres out of shipping containers at Dunlop in 40C heat over summer, by 17 he had saved enough for us to sit down and troll the car sites for a suitable vehicle.

With a great sense of pride he paid cash for his first Landcruiser ute, a 2002 FTE. After that he was obsessed with doing all the work on it himself using the DIY mechanical write ups in 4x4 Action and Youtube (god bless it). For a city kid it was with real pride he got that vehicle up to scratch and did a power of work without spilling much oil on the front driveway!

Now, a week out from Xmas and with he on a much deserved overseas holiday with mates, some lowlife bastards have stolen the vehicle from outside our house in Newport (Western suburbs of Melbourne). We are simply gutted as it has come on top of what has been a very bad year for the family. The thieving filth were driving a Holden SS ute which was captured on CCTV (see video).

I reckon this vehicle is somewhere in the western suburbs and knows Newport Williamstown well. It’s distinctive very well maintained, possibly silver and has a black tarp not a hard tub cover. They may have a connection with baseball in the western suburbs.

The boys ute has a large grey space case mounted in the rear tray, distinctive orange reflector tape around the tray, twin halogens on a black bulbar with a 24”lightbar centre mounted on the top rail. 2” lift with black steelies , the rear two are Landcruiser 105 5 stud rims painted black, the front two your standard sunraysias. Mix of 33” AT tyres old coopers and a BFG. Spare tyre was mounted upright in the rear tray against the back window protection bar with a tamper proof lock and a fluoro green webbing. Two antennae on the front left of bulbar. REGO; Victorian plates ICU 4SP. Insured but that’s not the point. This is pride and joy and he (and we) are simply gutted.

Interior wise the lad cut out aluminium checkerplate to replace the interior door trims. UHF, 5 gang rocker-switch plate mounted centre of dash, no carpets (deep creeks) with two vinyl floor mats over bare steel floor.
Could you spread this around your networks, your 4x4 clubs, your mates. We’ve got it up on facepage and a few other 4x4 sites but if you’re in the west of Melbourne or driving out in the bush this Xmas New Year, please keep your eyes peeled. They may well change the plates but the vehicle is distinctive. Let the cops know and or give us a hoy through the site of facepage.

Thanks all and have a happy Xmas and safe New Year. Lets hope we can turn these mongrels up!
