theft of any sort is a bloody low act .
in this case it just really screws up a blokes big trip , possibly his last chance to have some outdoor 4WD enjoyment .
I am not really one for violence , but in this case I wouldn't care what happens to the low life scum if the right people catch them .

I dearly hope the big 4WD/car companies jump on this and sort him out with a fourby

Fellas, saw a similar thread on 4x4 Earth, and wanted to do something for this bloke and his partner.
Easily tracked their mums addy, and dropped in there today.
Was only going to offer them my 4B for a week so they can do their Kangaroo Island journey, but you know what ??? . . . .

Steve said 4WD Action has already bought him a new (old) 80, and it's being kitted up ATM in Syd by a whole range of generous suppliers !!!
Sometime next week, they are flying Steve and Lynne to Sydney to pick it up and they can continue their travels !!!

How good is that !!??
He'll barely be a skip from the original plans, so can make the most of precious time.

Steve said he's had calls from heaps of suppliers direct here, offering this, that, and the other, he said he had offers for about 12 sets of spotties !
He's referred them all to 4WDA to collate and organise these generous offers for the new old truck :)

So, that's the worst and the best of the 4wd world in a few days I reckon.
I'd like to see this on the main page if 4WDA is responsible for this, it is recognition well deserved.

Awesome, absolutely awesome. This is exactly what I'd hoped would happen for them.

That's great news. Well done to the 4wd action team and everyone who offered assistance.

Just one more bit of good news . . .
Steve said they had cancelled their KI accom and ferry etc, and the accom had refunded or deferred their stay, deposits etc until ready, but Sealink / KI ferry would only give them 20% refund.

I emailed Selaink yesterday to make sure they knew the circumstances and asking them to reconsider . . . this morning got a reply from Ian Everitt the sales centre manager . . .

"Thank you very much for the email and making us aware of Steve’s situation.
I have spoken with Steve this morning and offered a full refund, and asked him to contact me directly if he travels across to the Island in the near future.
Once again, we really appreciate you taking the time to contact us and for everything you are doing for Steve & his family.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if I can be of any further assistance."

I think that when they are ready to make that trip, they will be getting some special ex gratis treatment :)
Great result, and trust next week will be awesome picking up that 80 in Sydney, well done 4WDA.

just watched the dvd and i love those "feel good" segments.

i think there should be a dedicated section either in the mag or dvd (or both) on a regular basis.

there are many many people out there struggling to get through life or get hit with bad news and struggle to focus on things that could do with someone just coming in and organising a major service for them or a new set of tyres anything that usually places a large financial burden on the average person, but in the big picture wouldnt hurt a business to cover on the odd occasion. it wouldnt have to be a replacement vehicle, or some major mechanical repairs each time, just something to lift a load off someones shoulders.

maybe the 4WDA and associates could come up with something to give back to struggling readers on a regular basis?

anyway glad that steve and lynne were able to get on the road
